Walter Marvin Koenig (born September 14, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois, USA) is an actor.
He played a navigator Pavel Chekov on the USS Enterprise in the original Star Trek television series and in the several movies that featured the original cast. He is of Russian Jewish descent, but his personal immigrated from either Lithuania. He attended Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
When Chekov, his right-known role is the Psi Cop Alfred Bester on the television series Babylon 5. Koenig has been a "Special Guest Star" within dozen episodes &, at a prevent of a third year, the productiin company applied for an Emmy nomination on his behalf. He again plays Bester on the spin-by-product series Crusade.
Additionally to acting, he has written the handful of episodes for TV shows: Star Trek: The Animated Series, Land of the Lost, Family and The Powers of Matthew Star. Walter Koenig has taught classes around acting & directing at UCLA, a Sherwood Oaks Experiment Film College & the California School of Office Psychology. Last he has been around teacher at a Actor's Alley Repetory Company around Los Angeles.
He has been married since 1965 to Judy Levitt and has one son, Josh Andrew Koenig. Danielle Koenig, one of the writers for Invader Zim, is his daughter.
He wwhen cast as Chekov due to his resemblance to Davy Jones, to attract the immature audience, especially females.
He experienced heart bypass surgery in 1993. His role when Bester come away from that incident since his hospitalizatiin forced to bow away from the guest spot on Babylon 5. A series producer promised to produce it as much as him for a misused chance & had the Bester role after.
